1

Inequality of Opportunities

A person from a lower socio-economic class will have 30% fewer opportunities to enter the digital professions.

2

Inclusion Bias

Tech companies with all-male founding teams receive 93% of the capital invested by VC and account for 85% of deals.  5% of capital goes to mixed teams and only 2% to all-female teams.

All things equal, all-male teams raise approximately €4m more than teams with at least one woman.

3

Diversity Pipeline Challenges

Only 18% of ICT (Information and communication technology) specialists are women.

The 4 Deep Tech Pillars

Our focus on Deep Tech Technologies is centred on four Deep Tech pillars adopted by other Women in Tech.

Deep Talent

At the heart of Deep Talent is the core value that technical competence and talent matters. NetUp aims to maximize the chances for Deep Talent to meet Tangible Opportunities everywhere, but particularly in Asia.

Deep Impact

Deep Tech by its nature aims to solve complex problems using novel solutions. NetUp aims to connect people of excellence directly to real-world problems, so that Deep Impact  can be felt by those who need it.

Deep Thinking

Deep Tech is usually highly complex, and multifactory skills are needed to bring research solutions into unchartered territories. NetUp aims to encourage Deep Thinking in Tech, by connecting people, ecosystems, and  governments

Deep Collaboration

NetUp is a unique movement that brings together startups, investors, policymakers and community builders. Our program aims to foster Deep collaboration by building on individual initiatives, highlighting worthy projects, and creating a snowball effect of Deep Collaboration amongst global citizens.

01 Medium

A sensible approach to DEI for a seed-stage startup is not just about taking the typical methods for a bigger organization and scaling them down. It requires a different approach that is more agile and flexible.

03 Entrepreneur

When it comes to startups, the importance of diversity and inclusion cannot be overstated. Startups need to be innovative, adaptable and flexible to succeed, and having a diverse workforce can help to achieve these goals.

02 Forbes

Here are three perspectives on startup diversity from three experts that explain both how and why startups should value diversity.

04 World Economic Forum

Diversity gaps still exist, especially in the tech startup ecosystem. These gaps manifest in a variety of ways, from venture capital funding, to board composition, and even to the implementation of programmes to boost company diversity.
